| Veteran Job Update: VetJobs in Canada |

This is an update for our Alliance partners regarding the VetJobs initiative in Canada: The response to VetJobs’ initiative with Alberta, CANADA and the Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) has been incredible. On the 4th of July VetJobs was highlighted on the FOX News website. The result was our phone was ringing continuously from veterans wanting to go to Alberta and I had interviews with the two leading newspapers in Alberta. Today there were two TV interviews via Skype with the Canadian Sun News TV Network and two radio interviews with the Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC) Radio in Edmonton and Calgary. Tomorrow I am on FOX & Friends at 7:50 AM EST, then the Stuart Varney Show on FOX Business at 10:30 AM EST. At 9:05 AM another CBC Radio interview. The jobs are centered in Alberta where there is a huge shortage of skilled labor for infrastructure and industrial jobs in support of the Canadian oil fields centered north of Edmonton (Fort McMurray). If Keystone ever gets approved, there would be more jobs and an even larger labor shortage. Without Keystone, EEDC expects a shortage of 114,000 over the next several years. US veterans willing to move to Edmonton, Alberta or come in as contractors is seen as a part of the solution for EEDC. This is also a potential employment solution for many members of the National Guard and Reserve (which represents a major part of the veteran unemployment problem) who could work in Canada between deployments! I have heard from the National Guard Bureau and they are thrilled with what VetJobs is doing. The traffic on VetJobs for the Canadian jobs has been very strong the last two days. The jobs that are posted are for only 3 of the 30 plus companies needing help in Alberta. If all goes well, VetJobs could pick up 15 to 20 new clients in Canada. Very exciting! Once again VetJobs is leading the way to find quality jobs for our veterans.
